2001 toyota tundra wont shift out of park. After re-connecting the truck started but the lights above on lit on the console and it wont shift out of park. Check the headlights and brake lights again. A couple of things can cause this if the brake lights are intermittently not working due to a faulty brake light switch it can cause it to not come out of park another cause may be that the shift interlock solenoid is sticking this can happen if a soft drink containing.

If you have checked all the fuses or dont have a spare to replace the blown one pop open the little cover to the left of the shifter.
