2017 Toyota Tundra Tow Haul Button
Certain models such as the Tundra with the 57L V8 engine include a TowHaul button to the right of the steering column or on the end of the shift lever.
2017 toyota tundra tow haul button. Overdrive is still usable when hauling on. We also test both at the same time. Ease off the gas a little between shifts to allow the transmission to shift and hit it again.
I have a 2017 57 2WD SR5. Discussion Starter 6 May 12 2017. 17 Tundra SR5.
No harm other than to. It also holds gears longer for more solid shifting. It changes shift points like tow haul mode and adds HP unlike the tow haul button.
I turn it on along with the manual shift on my 11 mile commute. Its so much fun sports car not needed. The button enhances a vehicles control and the truck can slow down quickly when the towhaul mode is activated.
The towhaul button is a blast. No one should be towing much more than a small trailer in 6th and the real towing gear is 4th as both 5 and 6th gears are overdrives in the Tundra. Up shifts are at substantially higher RPMs.
The Chevy only has 12 and D on the lever so towhaul mode is a plus it but also a manual mode which is controlled by a rocker switch on the the lever which limits the top gear and essentially does the same thing as. Push it any time you need more pulling stopping or steering power to compensate for a heavy trailer or load. At stop start in 2nd then 3rd at 30mph and 4th at 40mph etc.
